This year again not honoring

Herta Klauser Cuneo's trust

there is no animal inducted

We have had only 2 to date

"Jumbo" in 2016 & the horse

"Starless Night" in 2017

I nominate Mabel Stark's famed Rajah tigers, I and II, her wrestlers, who scored oceans of ink 100 years ago.

I nominate Anna May, among the most recognized and celebrated elephant stars ever.

And I nominate Blanche, the time-honored Cole show elephant, who made it her job to roll out bundles of Big Top canvas every morning.

I could go on, but who listens to some old washed-up cagehand...?

Roger Smith: From the contents of what you have posted and the positions you have had.....I would say you are selling yourself short even in jest as some old washed-up cagehand. Many would consider themselves privileged to have had your experiences.

Since we had "Jumbo" as the

1st animal inducted it's not

likely to have another bull

anytime soon (if at all) &

much of the world knew that

name - We ShowUrchins could

easily come up with plenty of

deserving performing animals

but the current powers that

be don't seem to keen on it

Very sorry that Herta's well

financed wishes are denied

Perhaps if Disney got involved

maybe we could induct a mouse

Easily greater worlwide

recognition than Jumbo

I'm not certain that Jumbo

was ever truly a performer

Perhaps just an exhibition

I'll check with Buckles

I lived in Orlando when Mickey arrived and for 30 more years. Mickey and Minnie were not very good neighbors and ruined a really nice place to live and raise children. Of the other attractions that were brought in, I only liked "Circus World", "Ben Hur, the Musical" and the "Holy Land". Chic, did you have anything to do with the props for the musical?

I recall folks that worked at the Disney Park

often referred to it as "Mouseschwitz"

No I hadn't worked on any Ben Hur Bill

Only the Haines City Park up there & SeaWorld

parks in a few cities

The props included realistic teams of galloping horses pulling chariots with actors racing until the bad guys' wheel broke. It was held in a 10,000 seat theater in the rafters of the civic center. For the curtain call, 40 people stood shoulder to shoulder on the stage. The backers did not have deep enough pockets, so it folded,
