She had a speaking role in RING OF FEAR, sharing the scene with Clyde Beatty, Mickey Spillane, and Pat O'Brien. Her screen credit billed her as Mary Cuttin.

She was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, in 1934. Her head-balancing trapeze act earned her 1950s stardom on the Ringling show, where John North re-named her Galla Shawn. In 1975, she received The Circus Oscar in Madrid, Spain, and The Lady of The Trapeze Award, in Paris. She retired in 1979 with a severe neck injury, after a tour with Circus Bouglione. She then began a new career in concessions.

She died on June 15, 1992, in Sarasota, at age 58.

Survivors included her husband, daughters Adella Togni, Victoria Bouglione, and Isabella Dos Santos, and two sons, Louis and Mark.

(Source: Two obituaries in CIRCUS REPORT. The husband was not named.)
