This feathered bird "Penny Peck" was flown as a marionette with nearly invisible braided nylon lines by a propman in a platform about 42 feet above the Martin Beck stage in a similar fashion that was used to fly bats for Dracula in that very same theater many years before As John Herriott kept repeating "It's All Been Done Before" I still have many of the bats as well as a few platforms Penny was named after a master of props for the Music Fairs where I was Technical Director in the summer of 1960
