Read the new Leslie Zemeckis history, FEUDING FAN DANCERS, the story of Sally Rand and Faith Bacon in bitter dispute over who originated the fabled routine. Ms. Zemeckis provides penetrating biographies on both women, the origins of the feud, and the inside, backstage life they and their fellow showgirls lived when their acts, and all of burlesque, were in their vivid prime.

Ms. Zemeckis previously wrote, and filmed, BEHIND THE BURLY Q, and BOUND BY FLESH, the story of Siamese twins, Daisy and Violet Hilton. And recently, she gave us MABEL, MABEL, TIGER TRAINER, a documentary winning 6 Bests on the film festival circuit, and which netted Ms. Zemeckis 2 Best Directors...so far. The Mabel film might be the only picture we'll get with yours truly named on the poster.

PS: Thanks largely to FEUDING FAN DANCERS, and BEHIND THE BURLY Q's book and film, in a number of select venues around the nation, burlesque is...wait for it...making a comeback.

I cannot believe, in naming the above Leslie Zemeckis books, I failed to include her acclaimed bio of Lili St. Cyr, GODDESS OF LOVE INCARNATE. I'll have to be forgiven, I'm nearly 50 years of age.
