I had almost forgotten that Bert Pettus was on elephants over there, under Mac MacDonald.
Albert Fleet was a mainstay around Beatty for years. He did some expert big cat training that very few know of, especially during the Ft. Lauderdale years of the Clyde Beatty Jungle Zoo. Beatty himself had a well-founded fear of that chimp pair, Mickey and Minnie. Fleet was the only man who could work them. There is a press photo taken of Beatty attending Fleet when Mickey chewed off half of Al's hand.
We find Red Gates on Props for Bob Reynolds. Gates served for a time as Beatty's Gun Boy, and shared with me some colorful jackpots of that job. Later, he wised up and became rich in Concessions.
