Terrific energy
I have this framed (assume it is a reproduction) anyone care to guess as the value dollar wise.....?? Thanks...
I have no idea Charles nor do I know who the artist is Reproductions have little value Hope someone can help here
A friend just sent this information to me This 1932 painting by John Steuart Curry is titled "The Flying Codonas"
Thanks Chic.....That helps....I have had it for over thirty years.....
John Steuart Curry was a famous "regionalist" artist along with Thomas Hart Benton, Grant Wood and others. Most of the best known work was done around the 1930s.
Thanks Jim....
Curry also did a serial study of the Clyde Beatty act. I've seen 3 of these. If Curry had observed the rigging a little more closely, we might have better detail on Codona's fly bar.
The original of the "Flying Codonas" is in the Whitney Museum in NYC.
