And thank you BLB. I knew the #&*^$# state of CA wreaked hell on these good people. I did not know they had safely moved to Texas. Persevere Johnsons and don't hesitate to reach out to us elephant lovers if you need help!
Fredericksburg is NW of San Antonio and West of Austin, where US Hwys 290 & 87 meet. It was the hometown of Commander Chester Nimitz, and is home of the National Museum of the Pacific War, for which Admiral Nimitz was Commander in Chief for all Naval operations.
Some months back, Wini McKay told me Kari and Gary had left Perris, California, due to the law there forbidding bullhooks. It read something like you cannot use "any extension of the human arm"--whatever the wording, it was enough to compel their move. As a Texan, I trust my home state retains enough basic sense to fend off such laws.
Good for them!!!!! Good for them for having the courage and will to shove it up California's ass. James C. Hall has to be pissing down his leg having more elephants in the state of Texas!!!!!!!!
Worked with Gary, Kari, and Joanne when they brought Rosie to Blank Park Zoo Des Moines Iowa for a couple summer seasons. A first class outfit and a pleasure to work with.
