Not fond of the nail polish colors

No color would be much better. The practice of shoe polishing an elephant's toe nails was awful, and not necessary once regular foot care became the norm. I of course, in the early day's did the same thing for a short time, basically because it was the thing to do, and everyone else was doing it. I didn't realize how awful it looked until seeing pictures years later.

I wonder if the elephants trunk stuck in a water barrel, instead of "trunk up" was for stability? It sure could not have been for appearance.
