Chic in 1984 when Ringling had a "dark day" at the Garden I took my sons out for a Circle Line boat tour around Manhattan Adam was taking pictures and happened to take this one Who knew what was to come........ Regards Wade
We ALL would have lost the bet
In 1976 I was doing special effects on the Dino DeLaurentiis remake of "King Kong" spending much of a month on the plaza between the 2 towers The 2nd (North) tower was nearly finished but we spent some time on the roof of the South tower My team assembled the 40 foot ape It came from L A in 5 sections By a strange situation I became the driver (in uniform) of the Willys Jeep rented from Burbank Studios with several millitary vehicles from "Mash" because the "Teamster" that should have driven it refused as it pulled a trailer mounted searchlight twice the weight of the jeep without any trailer brakes It was a pretty exciting ride The "Gaffer" (head electrician) rode the trailer to operate the big carbon arc searchlight He cursed me out screming at top of his lungs throughout the thrilling ride but with the great background noise no one heard him except me We actually were good friends

We ALL would have lost the bet
In 1976 I was doing special effects
on the Dino DeLaurentiis remake of
"King Kong" spending much of a month
on the plaza between the 2 towers
The 2nd (North) tower was nearly
finished but we spent some time
on the roof of the South tower
My team assembled the 40 foot ape
It came from L A in 5 sections
By a strange situation I became
the driver (in uniform) of the
Willys Jeep rented from Burbank
Studios with several millitary
vehicles from "Mash" because
the "Teamster" that should have
driven it refused as it pulled
a trailer mounted searchlight
twice the weight of the jeep
without any trailer brakes
It was a pretty exciting ride
The "Gaffer" (head electrician)
rode the trailer to operate
the big carbon arc searchlight
He cursed me out screming at
top of his lungs throughout
the thrilling ride but with
the great background noise
no one heard him except me
We actually were good friends
