Beatty's first picture, and one Uncle Carl Laemmle made sure had world distribution. He offered Beatty continual film stardom if he'd give up circus and the big cats, and be groomed as a contract player for Universal. Beatty thanked him, but remained with his calling. His co-star was a very young Mickey Rooney. We have seen artwork for THE BIG CAGE from numerous foreign markets, most far from depicting the true image of Beatty.
