For many years, the International Amphitheatre was Chicago’s largest public venue for exhibitions, shows, conventions, etc. During the 1950s and ‘60’s, whenever the Republicans and the Democrats held their national conventions in Chicago, it would be in the International Amphitheatre. It also hosted the Chicago Auto Show, the Sportsmen Show, the Chicago Boat Show, musical acts such as Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and the Beatles and, of course, the indoor Ringling Circus. Other circuses might have also appeared there, so additional information is welcomed.)
