Welcome to Buckles Blog. This site is for the discussion of Circus History all over the world.
With this exception of Dieter Tasso (Krackow) all other images shown today are "pole" acts
Several of my favorite wire acts were "no pole" including Manfred Fritsch "Doval" Gene Mendez & The Carillo Brothers
Dieter Tasso made a lasting impression on me as a small boy, seeing him for the first time, circa 1950.
Dieter is still going strong I inherited a few of his custom Austrian silk folding opera top hats in bright colors
I caught the Ringling show when Doval did a solo on the high wire, almost step for step the act of Harold Alzana, even reprising the ascent and descent music, "Impossible".
