At L is 96 Bible Wagon, as driven by our 1st Trumpet, Thomas X. Napoli. When Mr. Beatty was off the show for the rest of '64, recovering from cancer surgery, I was Tommy's shotgun in 96, and thereby got let in on the real inside skinny of the backyard jackpots. Tommy was one of those guys who actually knew where all the bodies were buried and taught me an enduring lesson for survival on a circus: KEEP YOUR F'ING MOUTH SHUT!!

This is Wilno's cannon as shown
above in #5 when it was on the
Beatty Show in the early 60s
Luis Munoz Sr was performing
with it & ended up buying it
Vermin had chewed thriugh the
insulation on some of the wiring
over the previous winter which
caused some shorting & I was
asked to make some repairs
This gave me my 1st opportunity
to gain some of the secrets
After that I was trusted by
Edmundo "Pappa" Zacchini in
San Juan Puerto Rico to help
him with a few projects
These were the 1st 2 cannons
that I learned much from
Pappa was a terrific cook
& invited me to several of
his fantastic dinners
Just another link in the
long chain of my good luck

Interesting that many years
later Luis' son Luis Jr both
drove & was the flyer for
Elvin's Big Boy & another
of Luis' sons Chris created
his own sled or wagon style
smaller cannon
