Although the corporate title was 'Kit Circus Operating Co" It was mostly known as an "Acme" show in later years
Managers that I knew were Bill English whose wife was Kit (hence the title) & Wilson "Willie" Storey
Looks like that louvered vent was added later so they had to repaint "GRAY" in less space than before Hence the offset layout
Insiders told me that Sells & Gray could be counted on for convenient tax breaks, with Frank McClosky often telling Mr. Storey, "Willie, don't make any money this year."
Willie also did most of the act bookings for all 3 shows He also did Jimmy Harrington's "Gran Circo Panamericano" in Puerto Rico that I worked on for many years each spring before the Beatty opening
