Welcome to Buckles Blog. This site is for the discussion of Circus History all over the world.
109th Edition as a 2nd year show was on "The Rodeo Route"
The building in Fayetteville was the smallest on the tour Much storage outside in tents & a very difficult hippodrome track to maneuver the floats Great military family business Ft Bragg is a tremendous base
The Armory in DC is a terrible building in a bad neighborhood Lloyd Morgan Jr was held up at gunpoint as he was leaving in his car to run errands
The high windows in each end meant that the matinees looked terrible without light control
The Armory was where Ringling played in the spring of 1974 when Abe Polen's Circus America opened his new Capitol Center with 5 rings of everything & 7 Nock & Bauer swaypoles
Dorton at the Raleigh Fairgrounds also had tremendous high windows that prevented light control for the matinee performances but it was a very nice building
