Sally Rand demanded huge salaries during her career....making as much as $4,000 per week as a feature on carnival girl shows. Yet, she died penniless according to her adopted son in an interview....and her final memorial services were paid for by Sammy Davis, Jr.....Who later on had his own financial woes....

When Sammy was dying of cancer, he owed insurmountable debt to the IRS. It is no surprise that Frank Sinatra stepped up to pay off the IRS, and take care of Sammy's hospital, doctor, and funeral bills. Sinatra also paid off the IRS for Georgie Jessell, among others, usually entirely on the q.t.
