Yes, that's Alfredo, and seated directly above him is his then-or-about-to-be wife, Clara Gron (sometimes spelled Grow). At her left is Abelardo Codona, called Lalo, Alfredo's brother and catcher.
Rumor was, when Leitzel rose to stardom, whoever her husband was also had to be a star, and the only one equal to her was Alfredo. By then, he was indeed married to Clara Gron, and Leitzel paid her $1,000 to vanish. Clara agreed, took the pay-off, and lived out her days in Cincinatti. I knew one researcher her located her there, but she refused to answer his questions. But my telling is based on years of shaded rumors. For better, and far more accurate details, read Dean Jensen's excellent book, QUEEN OF THE AIR, with greatly detailed history of Leitzel and Codona.
