This is the celebrated elephant ballet of 1942. It was choreographed by the famous ballerino George Balanchine to music by Igor Stravinsky. North spent a lot for that. This photo was taken at Mad. Sq. Garden where they used two stages in addition to the three rings. The stages were eliminated for the under canvas tour.

well into the 60s I recall
I don't believe Balenchine was
ever titled a ballerino Richard
He certainly was a very famous
Ballet Director & Choreographer
