At Jungleland, in Thousand Oaks, we shared a property line with Big John's Winterquarters. He was right next door. He described his show in self-effacing terms as "just a little kiddie circus", and so it was. But Big John had a Big Top, an elephant, at least one clown, jugglers, concessions, and a well-painted presentation on the lot. He brought circus to the children who never cared that this show was not among the big ones. And you know what else--? With his "little kiddie circus", Big John Strong made money.

Big John Strong. Another American original and a good guy "with more friends than Santa Claus."

He also produced memorable touring stage magic shows around the Christmas holidays. Route extended from California to Omaha.
