Pee Wee Pinson took over the Hubert Castle herd during the winter of '73, when Bert and Marie Pettus left. Hubert and Bert had a long-running dislike for one another, and I witnessed them almost come to blows more than once during that season. Back in Seagoville winterquarters, Mary Castle came out once a week to bring our stipends of barn pay. Bert had their trailer hooked up and parked by the barn door, with the engine left running. When Mary arrived and paid them off, she and Marie hugged and cried, but their many years there had ended. No sooner had they left than Pee Wee arrived, and the Castle herd of 5 had a new boss. Thankfully, Pee Wee did well with them, even proving who was boss to the ever-threatening Zetta.
