#1 James Bros. Circus!

Spent several Seasons with Sid Kellners James Bros. Circus during which time I trained the three young elephants he had purchased.
This is "Anna May" Barbara and Ben at his Winter Quarters in Martinez, California on a day he decided to hang side wall on the barn and have Publicity Pix taken!

I first met Buckles and Barbara when I took the Jungleland Fighting Lions on tour for James Bros., but I was never at Quarters, in Martinez. I got along great with the owner, whom everyone called their Uncle Sid. Hell of a guy, with a relentless sense of humor. Buckles gave me his address, and I corresponded with him until just days before he passed. He wrote some intriguing letters, always informative and funny.
