Extra

We were in the Chicago area when Tom Parkinson took my father to see the Ringling Show playing at the Soldier Field Parking Lot.
While there someone snapped this picture of George Piercy, Bill Woodcock, Ken Whipple, Tom Parkinson and Eugene Scott.

As he stands here, I'm reminded that Arky often looked like he was about ready to cop a Sunday on you. But then came that long, low laugh that I remember so well when he revealed that under that tough elephant boss exterior, beat the heart of a true showman and a great friend. The Compound was a hotbed of vicious back-stabbing and throat-cutting, especially by those vying with the office for studio work, and all this time, it was reassuring to have Arky Scott in my corner.
