It's a drill (not mandrill), a rarely seen baboon-like primate. Carmen Hall had two in her outstanding baboon act. Chimp acts were rare before WWII, probably issues with medicine and portable heating. Baboons are more hardy and tolerant of lower temps, etc., and were more often seen performing.

JIM: Right, Carmen's act was a sensation. She had the RBB Center Ring when I caught her My-Immba's Baboons in San Antonio. I had not known the species she had, and thank you for advising that a drill is not a mandrill.
