Agreed. Ed did a fair job as mayor, so OK for him. But when Kenny got his shot, he toyed with RBB until he handed it off to his severely unqualified daughters. They not only destroyed the traditional heights of production values, they--especially Nicole, according to RB's one-time creative genius Bill Swayze--reduced the atmosphere around the show to a living hell-hole of disgust and misery. People who thought they had arrived by being on the Feld concept of The Greatest Show on Earth, became shocked and saddened to realize where they actually were. Further according to Bill, whom I knew in '08, while he was still on RB, demoralization worsened by the day as Nicole raged into people's faces, out of control and entirely unchecked by her father.
On a brighter note, this cast member from CATS is highly representative of this long-running hit. Their superlative creative elements brought these actors onstage with some of the most ideally realized character makeups ever seen in theatre.
I met Bill Swayze, mentioned above, when LITTLE WOMEN, THE MUSICAL came to our road house in Lancaster, CA. He was maintaining the creative aspects of the show that took a beating on tour. In spite of being among the heaviest shows we loaded in, word backstage held that this version had been cut to the bone. The entire script was produced, and the talent, which had not yet achieved name-recognition status, was superb in performance. Still the company knew they had been sent off the Broadway run with a 2nd-tier roadshow. Much the same atmosphere prevailed when we booked THE BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS. Another heavy show, but those with it felt a little short-changed in production.

Although the big billboard above
the Winter Garden Theater at 50th
& Broadway proclaimed "Cats - Now
& Forever" it only ran for a mere
18 years with 7485 performances
& there were 4 National Tours
Now there is a revival curently
running but it's severely cut down
