So many of us enjoy
your "show" every day
Thanks pal
This is a Edward J. Kelty photo.
It was used on his business cards with " Gone with the Wind " printed on them.
The card and the photo of the elephant was a play on Margaret Mitchell's book " Gone With The Wind (printed in 1936) " which was the top American fiction best seller in both 1936 and the following year of 1937. From the first sale of the book in June of 1936 to December 1936 over a million copies were sold at $3.00 each, which shows even in the middle of the depression, it was what everyone was talking about. ( Using the inflation calculator, the price of the $3.00 book would cost $52.49 in today's dollars. The 12x20 group photos that Kelty sold for a $1.00 would be $17.50 today )

Stand back & let her rip
One Christmas, Dave Price gave me a whole set of Kelty photos. They came packaged, and as Dave made a wry point of reminding me, were very expensive to give as gifts. I'm also blessed to have a big one of Beatty taken in the Garden, with Fred Bradna standing in close observation. I'm a massive fan of both Kelty and Atwill.
