I notice the elephant is wearing hobbles.....
.....they must know something!
Mrs. Louie Reid was not my mentor. It was Louie Reid & Jean Allen that taught me, not Mrs. Reid. She was very nice to me. But Louie Reid taught me to WORK elephants. Jean Allen taught me to do mounts. I loved them both. They were tough but good....Barabara....
I had the pleasure of visiting Adele Nelson in Chatham, NY, in the early 1970s shortly before her death. Born in 1889, her family was on the Ringling show in 1894-96 and she remembered how, when it was a long walk from the train to the lot, Mr. Al Ringling would come by the coaches in his buggy to pick up the youngest kids and give them all a ride to the lot.
