Hopefully, someone in Ellenton is overseeing and protecting the history. Corporate history, legends and good stories instill pride and are the foundation of great enterprises.
Merle Evans was another dinner guest at the Good home after a concert across the street with the Allentown Band. The stories kept coming and coming. Bert Myers was the conductor of the band and had played with Sousa. Band guys love to talk!
My parents watched the Heriott kids one day while John and Ruth went to the movies. I wonder if the girls remember that. What babysitters!
Another great individual who was friends with all the old timeers was Red Sonnenberg. One night he and Merle held court at the Blue and White in Baraboo. Tibbels, the Pfenings, etc. just soaked it all up. Red's letters and even the envelopes were worth saving. The guy was a real comic.
Buckles apparently was also at the Good, 1609 Turner St. residence but I have no idea when. I was not home for that one. Mr. Woodcock recited the address to me on the bridge at the Museum years back. I stamped many of those pics back in the day and also mailed them out. All the negs are in Baraboo.
