According to Billie Lou
it's either in a truck
or buried in the mud but
I can't remember where
Your dear wife told me
that I could have it
if I could arrange it
Please remind me where
it is Billie Lou maybe
New Braunfells
I want it for a grave marker
"Beneath This Tub Lies A Crusty Showbum"
It's in a semi in New Braunfels, Texas. So are a lot of other props. I live in Northern Michigan, am going on 90 so it's all out of my hands.
Tommy Hannaford, Peggy MacDonald and Mack MacDonald. All three elephants trained by Mack.
Many thanks Billie Lou
I kinda remembered that
but I wasn't certain
Somehow I'll get there
Now you only have to do
another 90 more
Give me half a chance to look up Peggy & Mack's New Braunfels address. I visited Peggy on that property twice, once with Bill Johnston, and Peggy told me everything Mack ever had stayed right there, since no one had ever asked for it. Tubs, picket line chains, stakes, training rigging, shovels, rakes, old hooks, and all, remained in that barn, untouched at least throughout the '90s. I departed the area in '98, so can't account for it after that. If memory serves, someone on this site claimed that someone went there and cleaned everything out. I hope it was done with authority, and not a theft. Someone speak up.
I don't think anything of Uncle Mack & Aunt Peg are gone. As far as I know everything is still there. Aunt Peg did give some of my cousins some bull hooks but every else is in storage. I hope to go down there this winter and I will find out for sure.
Many thanks Grace for this note
I'll be very grateful to learn
about what you find down there
