Welcome to Buckles Blog. This site is for the discussion of Circus History all over the world.
Victor Jr "Tito" Gaona
Sitting on the catch trap after bouncing back from his comedown (4 or 5 times) He faked the final attempt (& the crowd went wild)
Best showman on the trapeze I've ever seen. And I go back to Concello.
Richard, so good to hear from you again, and your always appreciated comments.
I was in the top in Philly when they were praticing Tito's triple & flew over the apron when a fingertip catch didn't hold & into the hardwood with a crash Victor from the catch trap yelled for him to scramble up to the pedestal & try it again (& again) until he caught 1 completely (Early 60s)
Tito tried for several years in vain to save the Venice WQ grounds & the arena but ultimately it was all gone Last I heard he still has a training flying rigging near the bridge & operates a flying trapeze school
