I remember Bobby Gibbs on Carson & Barnes in the early '80's pitching a bunch of agoutis in a pit show: "Rats! Rats! Giant Jungle Rats! Just like the ones who ate Ava Gardner in the 'Snows of Kilamanjaro!'" I asked Bobby one time, "So how do you suppose all those agoutis made it all the way from South America to Africa?" He piped up immediately, "Cruise ship. Everybody knows there's rats on a cruise ship. Heard they're lousy tippers, though..."!
THE SNOWS OF KILAMANJARO is on YouTube, and I got into the first scenes last night, wherein Greg Peck's rotten leg is attracting Africa's King Vultures. I don't recall what the rats did to Ava, but she was married to...well, just see the movie.

And have your ice-cold Coke while marveling at the rats. Gotta love it.
