The first arrival for 1952's forthcoming Miller-Woodcock Elephant Act, was named "Lydia" after Mrs. Obert Miller and my father remarked at the time it was the smallest elephant he had ever seen. Two more elephants were delivered but one rejected due to a crippled leg, the other one he named "Fanny".....which in later in later years found me running around the Circus Ring screaming..... "Fanny Up!", "Fanny Up!" So with only two elephants and a seasons' contract with Siebrand Bros. Circus & Carnival my father talked D.R. into loaning "Anna May" and for some reason never got around to returning. |
