The excellent documentaries on Mae West are worth your study on YouTube. So are those featuring a vast number of other top names--in and out of showbusiness.
For those of you who may not know this is the late Billy ("Mr Sinsation") Barton with Mae West taken on the Pollack show in the 70's. Billy loaned me the negative years ago.
And Billy reveled in writing his regular "bitchy-witchy" gossip column for CIRCUS REPORT. He carried lots of show news, but loved comparing himself to the fearsome jottings of Hedda and Louella, often saying, "Many shake in their shoes over what I MAY print!" Hell of a colorful showguy.

He also was a mystery novel aficionado and penned "Past Murder Imperfect."
