Barbara personifies something that can't be taught in showbusiness. A performer either has it or never will. It's the sheer force of performance projection. Barbara's presence leaps from this photo just as it did from the ring to every seat in the house. This is what Clyde Beatty had. Leitzel had it. Codona had it, as did LaNorma, Lottie Brunn, Gee Gee Engesser, and many headliners we remember, and here again projection is exemplified by Barbara Woodcock.
