Cirque Alexandre Bouglione of Belgium. Always an excellent fresh show every year and a friendly lot. Show is presented in French. Unfortunately, Belgium's ban on wild animals forced removal of the big cats and their one African elephant.

Speaking of Europe, the 41st Monte Carlo International Circus Festival competition starts Thursday. Seems like many new-to-the-competition acts this time around.

American clown Tom Daugherty, formerly of the defunct shows Big Apple and Ringling, will be appearing in Monte Carlo with his partner Pepe. Tom has been working in Europe lately as clowning opportunities in the US are limited.
