#1 Peggy and Mack

Over the years I heard my father make the remark, "In this country there are two great Elephant Trainers..... Mack MacDonald and Hugo Schmitt....and the rest are a "Pretty Sorry Lot!"

Thank you Buckles and Chic. Made my day. Mack started on RBBB in 1936 to learn the railroad system. As "Generally Useful" his potential with elephants was recognized. Got in trouble over the Union in 1937 and left the show. There's an obituary in BandWagon Oct. 1983.
