Welcome to Buckles Blog. This site is for the discussion of Circus History all over the world.
Johnny's 1st tension top with 8 truss masts
The show title as many of us like to remember
This might be from 98 or 99
This top made me wonder why. Nothing about it says circus. You'd find something like this at a pumpkin fair.
Although I never liked the colors there were many reasons to change to a tension top Roger Regulations in several states required cables sewn into the seams to be much heavier sizes Benefits included there were no quarter poles so that eliminated the obstructions & danger of dancing poles There was a sizeable savings in insurance & better protection from weather elements I liked the layout of the 8 king pole top better than the 6 for ring placement
If I had my 1st choice Roger it would still be a 4 pole real canvas top with 2 rows of quarters & 14' sidewalls hands down (case closed)
