It is, indeed. This looks like a routine contortionist number, but Kinko took things up a notch, and was a hell of an effective performer. When the Cole show folded early, in 1938, he and partner Florenz were among those who segued to the sister show, Robbins Bros. to finish the season. From there, the team went with Clyde and Harriett Beatty to Hamid's Steel Pier for the '39 season, and on to Fort Lauderdale with them to open the Jungle Zoo that year, on December 2nd.

Mitch Freddes was doing this on Hamid/Irem Shrine in Wilkes-Barre a few years back using a barrel Lou Jacobs gave him. Makes me want to reach for some BenGay.
