During our visit there in '95, Dave Price and I were told by a Mr. Richardson that Mix was a regular sight in Peru. He'd be posing like this, or sitting on the vestibule of his private car, or near his dressing wagon--and it was OK to wave, and say hello to him, but Mix forbade anyone from coming closer.

Very few autographed photos or programs of his time with Sells-Floto , Sam Dill or the Mix Show have ever turned up. There are some photos given to friends with his signature that turn up from time to time. I don't know of his years in film if he did many personal appearances and signed a lot of stuff or not.

You do see some of his business and personal checks being framed with photos and sold on line. Most of these are sold with reproduction photos and not with original photos.

The Oklahoma Historical Society together with the city of Dewey, Ok have a museum in that city that has a lot of his personal items. Most of these items came from his estate in Calif. after his passing. p.j.
