Patricia said...: When I was maybe six years old (early '60's), a circus came to my little town of Clare, Michigan. I recall my Dad took me there; I dropped peanuts into an elephant's trunk and my Dad said,"Look! Just like a vacuum cleaner!" He was really excited because a TV hero of his, Sky King, was there. I think my Dad would like to have been a pilot. Anyway, the other memory I have of our visit was Sky King shooting a gun toward a girl holding a balloon at the far end of the tent. BANG! POP! I was amazed, my Dad smiled and said "Shh. Don't tell anybody. She had a pin in her hand."; 29 September, 2016 08:56
Cindy Potter said...: Kirby Grant(Sky King) was a "fan" of the Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra. My mom was their conductor for several years. We were all shocked to learn of his death in an automobile accident on the way home from Cape Canaveral the day of the Challenger disaster.
