Welcome to Buckles Blog. This site is for the discussion of Circus History all over the world.
Elephants as far as the eye can see
This irreplaceable image should be in every collection! Alone in its greatness!
As the mesh arena is being hoisted in prep for Charly Baumann's tiger act the lighted bottle walk I built is suspended above it Taurus activated the internal lighting in each of the cylinders as he walked across
If you hadn't seen this then you really missed it Very clearly never again
This was the long mount that concluded the Show's opening. We also did a cross mount on the front track at the conclusion of the elephant display.
As the last elephant exited past the arena, Charly already had the tigers seated and into the first trick. No Dilly Dally in those days.
On those 6 pack weekends any dilly dally would have left no time between shows to get em out & get em in
With Opening Menage Spec & Finale we had 4 elephant parades
Once again I made the Blog...pushing tigers.
I guess it's better Gary to push them than to pull them None of Charly's were on a leash or collar
My alltime favorites of all the animal acts on "Big Bertha" were Buckles elephants & Charly's tigers but I thoroughly enjoyed so many others
True Chic..Jewell New actually had a couple lease Lions..Kenneth the Motorcycle riding cat was a good lease cat..he hated to walk but would ride on anything..
Chic, I have always felt so Lucky to have been hired my Dr Henderson and to have worked for/with Buckles, Jewell and Charyl.
We were certainly there at just the right times If it weren't for dumb luck I'd have no luck at all Gary
