Jules Jacot at the St. Louis Zoo around 1950. Never saw this act but Johnny Herriott told me Jules would but the cape and crown on the lion, the announcer would proclaim him the "king of beasts", and a group of female lions would break into a roar. Maybe a little hoaky but some good training and entertaining.
Smokie sure admired Jules and told me the things he did with cats Met Jules after he retired in St Louis Colorful guy he had the presents of the well gromed actor that played Gen Montgomery in the move Paton

Thank's Jambo. I was trying to think of a proper word, and "hoaky" will do well. :)
