What an excellent picture. I would absolutely love to have a copy of this. Not only does it have the train in it but also the beautiful rolling hills that I so miss. I loved looking out the window from my little room-ette and from the vestibule of the train most of the trips. It was much better than driving as far as visuals go.
Darlene, you can get in touch with photographer that took the picture to get a copy. The information to do that is at the bottom of the photo. You just have to enlarge the picture to be able to read the information at the bottom. Good Luck!
DARLENE: To further re-live your experience, go to YouTube and type in Ringling train. You'll find a number of videos of the train--including this one, which was shot at the famous slow curve in the Tehachapi Mountains. Enjoy.

Similar to airline mergers
there are very few major
railroad companies left
& less than half of our
US continental rail track
BNSF is privately held
by Berkshire-Hathaway
"The Sage of Omaha"

When we were there the train was sometimes referred to as "The Great White Hope".
I never bothered to ask why.
That expression dates back
to when the entire train
was painted white maybe
in the late 60s & I'll
send you a photo of the
Hickory Creek in white
Thank you Bob and Roger. I will check both, the photographer and U-tube!
