Right, JIM. Of these acts, only a glimpse was given of Rix's Bears, as the movie Ringmaster, played by Bob Carlson, intoned, "Brainy bruins with new ideas!" A story went around that DeMille wanted Clyde Beatty in the picture, clearly not understanding that Beatty not only had split with Ringling back in 1934, but had a current, competitive circus of his own.

I recently stop in Peru went to the circus building in town looking for a paper back they sold in the past in their gift shop saw three or so photos of Clyde Beatty
0n a shelf by a desk I said looks like we have a Beatty fan here the gent in the shop said yes indeed we do and pointed to a gal setting behind the desk I told her about the year the one photo was taken it was about the last time I recall see him she than informed me she was his grand daughter from his first wife one of apparently three, Had a nice chat with her. My second surprise was seeing the Hemisphere wagon at the Hagenbeck Wallace W\Q
