front & turn around or
did they somehow back
up the loading ramp

Hard to say.
Elephants are surprisingly nimble.
I have seen them step up on a bull tub, do a half turn and back in one leg at a time.
My father told me about one that when she mounted, the front wheels would lift up then slam down as she as she moved to the front of the truck.
