We were in that town just after "THE BARBIE DOLL"" came out. AND MY SISTER "BILLIE LIVED IN SAN JOSE, CA. SHE ALWAYS INSISTED THAT "THE BARBIE DOLL"" WAS MODELED AFTER ME, AND I SHOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. BUT WE DIDN'T HAVE A LOT OF MONEY, AND I WAS VERY BUSY WORKING ON OUR CAREER'S. I JUST DIDN'T HAVE THE TIME TO FIGHT SOMETHING LIKE THAT, OR THE INCLINATION.........SUCH IS LIFE..........Barbara........

The best Mattel ever did

was to give Irvin an open

checkbook that provided

for some of the very best

years of "TGSOE" which

included yours "Barbie"
