This shot was in a set of publicity stills taken at Deming, New Mexico. One set had CB in his standard white attire, and in a 2nd set, he wore his tan movie wardrobe. Jane Beatty told me when the TV series got started, plans were made to market Clyde Beatty costumes for kiddies, like other pop stars were doing. But Commodore, the production company collapsed under bickering between husband-and-wife team Walter White, Jr. and Shirley Thomas. That ended the CB television show, even with some episodes in the can. Commodore also owned the Hopalong Cassidy franchise, and at the demise of the company, actor William Boyd picked up the world rights to his Hoppy character for a song, and became as wealthy as Bing Crosby and Bob Hope. On the back of the copy of this shot I bought, Bob Taber wrote in pencil, "Clyde Beatty fiting (sic) Saber."
