"Shirley"

The Bailey Bros. Circus elephants trained in 1947 by Mack MacDonald and presented by the show owner's daughter Shirley Stevens, "Christy" "Carrie", "Babe" and "Shirley" and later owned by Oscar Cristiani.
Thought to be the first elephants imported after World War II.

THIS Shirley is the oldest

living elephant born in 44

& is now living in Valdosta

ANOTHER Shirley from C&B

was born in 48 & is now

living in Tennessee

Hence the confusion
