I spent a couple days with these two chaps a few years ago. Their training is very different from what I know. Also, their facilities in Moscow are amazing. Nice guys, both.

How is it that this was never done in America ? That I know of anyway. Seems cat acts in this country were a predictable affair (including mine) for so many years.

Zapashny brothers, not the one with tigers. Video of the act on Circopedia. When the lion first jumps up on the barrel you have time to run out and make a sandwich and return before he does the trick. However, interesting act.

It appears the brothers are now doing a juggling act. Maybe when "America's Own" returns from China he might amaze us with his versatility.

Dennis,
Note Graham's comment, "their facilities in Moscow are amazing." That is important. Also, time. In the United State's it has always been "how fast can you do it" or "so and so can do it in 1 month etc. etc. The quality has never been important to a circus producer in America. When I am asked, "how long will it take to make an act," I respond, "what kind of an act? One tiger sitting up, or ten? An act like Joe Schmoo or an act like Charley Baumann?" Usually the answer is, "I don't know. You know, an act." No, I don't know. What do you consider "an act?" That will depend on how long it will take. If you look at this behavior on video as has been discussed in the past it is just a lion jumping, the person doesn't ride it, the person jump's with it. Still photo's are shot from below to give the "illusion." It is a sit up on a mirrored ball, in essence. Flashed up with showmanship. Nothing against the two brother's, just what it is from a trainer's view. So many intangible's go in to making an act. In our profession the person wanting one, knows nothing about it, but think they do, solely because they own the animals. I wish I could "buy/own" a rocket ship, then becoming an astronaut. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way, and I need to hire an astronaut.........

Beret's Jambo. That's right, you heard me, BERET'S!!!!!! I am framing a deal at the moment similar to a Mexican hat juggling turn, only using beret's instead of sombrero's, themed to Sous le Ciel de Paris instead of Mexican Hat Dance. I don't want to give away any more then that right now, for fear that the Princess's Royal Mahout Marcel Peter's might copy it. Rest assured it will be of the same class and quality that you have come to expect from "America's own." Best part is, I don't carry their smell into my house, on the bottom of my boot's after practice.

China has been aces up to this point GTC, although I now keep a small bag packed and visa in order should Donald Trump be elected to the American presidency. I suspect a Royal Rumble, or at the least a hey Rube with he and President Xi and would prefer to walk into Hong Kong under my own power, as apposed to being drug kicking and screaming like a girl, out of my apartment and into a make shift detention camp.

I enjoyed a "brief" visit with Martin Jr. a couple of month's ago in the People's Republic Of. He noted that I seemed to have gotten shorter, which was his kind way of saying, "gravity sure wreak's havoc on an old body, right mate? My very best to you and your family, and I trust your father is well. I am working with some young lioness at the moment pondering, "I wonder how Dickie would do this......"
