That would be Cap Curtis, dead C, with his suspenders to us, supervising the un-rolling of the canvas. As noted here previously, horse teams pulled it out, and the old rag took a beating that led to failure. This side-issue spool didn't work, but it was an idea that over time gave us the back-end spool that laid the top down rather than dragging it.
