I saw Sally Rand when she was featured on The Raynell Girl Revue, Cetlin & Wilson Railroad Carnival. Famed Girl Show Producer, Raynell, produced shows for several years on Royal American Shows before coming over to Cetlin & Wilson. Sally Rand was probably close to 57 years in age when I saw her work. She still had the body of a 25 year old, the long blonde hair and the blue spot light....all in all she appeared much younger than her true age. She packed the tent for Raynell at $1.00 a ticket....Raynell featured her two or three times. Sally Rand was a gold mine for the carnival as she generated much favorable publicity.

Thanks for sending this great photograph. It has been said that at times she worked in a body suit. I have no way to prove that, except that in the photo, it almost looks like she could be in a body suit as there is little detail of an original body. I guess she did many things over her career. I understand she was featured in Chicago, I believe in 1933 at the Century of Progress. I was much too young, but my family did spend time at the event. It is a great photo and seldom seen. Love, Jackie LeClaire

Sally Rand had some connection to circus people...Irwin Kirby, editor of the old Billboard Magazine, in his weekly column asked readers to send a birthday card to Sally Rand. In my card to her, I told her about seeing her work on the Raynell Show with Cetlin & Wilson Railroad Carnival. Much to my surprise, she wrote me back and asked me where was Mickey King? It is possible that Mickey King may have worked in one of Sally Rands permanent shows doing web ...or so I was told. Does anyone on this blog have any knowledge of exactly how Sally Rand may have been connected with the circus?
